Slim Jim and the VSOE! Sadly I have little information about this train, other than it is obviously the Venice-Simplon Orient Express stock, being hauled west by Class 33/2 no. 33210, quite a distinctive job for a lowly locomotive such as this. Is it a tour or just empty stock? Who knows, but I do know that it caught me by surprise and was a bonus for me on this day out at Reading. Oh, how this view has changed since then.
