It's not just the active railway scene that catches my attention. When I'm out and about with my camera I can happily turn my lens towards other attractions that pique my curiosity. This grounded ventilated van body near Pontlottyn has clearly seen better days. In fact, it couldn't be more ventilated than this! Presumably once in use as a shelter for livestock and place for feed, I suspect that even this lowly employment has come to an end. What are the chances that it's still here now? Fairly remote I suspect. But a nice diversion between trains all the same. There would have been thousands of these 4-wheeled fitted vehicles running on our railway system in decades past, but by the late ''70s and early '80s their time had come, and many of them would be stripped off their under frames and would be sold to farmers as ready-made sheds. Recycling is nothing new really!
