I'm standing on the platform at Llanbradach at 11.55 to witness the arrival of EWS Class 37 no. 37405 as it pulls in with the 2F22 11.14 Rhymney to Cardiff Central service. Passengers wait to board, many of them railfans, although the line was, and still is, supported by a healthy local clientele. Goodness knows what they thought of all the fuss around these trains. You have to wonder whether they appreciated the heritage stock and traction. Probably not!
