The driver was in a hurry! EWS Class 37 no. 37405 is being pushed to keep to the schedule, getting away from the station at Llanbradach fairly sharpish, the exhaust giving away the fact that the power is on hard. This is the 2R18 10.59 Cardiff Central to Rhymney service, seen at 11.39 from a footbridge just north of the station.
