D400 - a.k.a. 50050 "Fearless" - restored to its original as-delivered livery, or at least, as close as possible. The countdown was on towards the eventual demise of this class, and so many enthusiasts were making their last trips. You can see some of them here, at the east end of the platform, getting their shots. As for me, I'm standing on the footpath, known as Valley Path, now behind the Tesco supermarket. This was, in fact, D400's first train after its repaint at Laira.
Once the Class 159s were brought in this end of the platform was closed, as far as the A35 roadbridge in the distance, as it was suddenly deemed to be too narrow after having served the travelling public for over 130 years at the time. Amazing they got away with for so long!!! Anyway, this is the 09.15 Plymouth to London Waterloo, via Southampton.
