24th June 1984

A sight that greeted me for most of the starts of my journeys by rail - that of a Class 50 arriving on a down train to Exeter. I seem to go west more than east it has to be said, even if I was ultimately heading northwards as I would take a train from Exeter to go either further west or venture northwards. 50002 "Superb" rolls in with the 14.10 London Waterloo to Exeter St. Davids. Being a late afternoon train (it would be around 17.00) I'm not going anywhere today but just taking in the view of yet another "Hoover"!
