When you get to Mendip Vale you have a sense that there is nowhere to go, which officially, is true. But in the undergrowth there is actually a feint path leading up on to the top of the cutting and walking along I found this opening, allowing me a view of the loco running around its train. At 14.15 ex-GWR Large Prairie no. 4110 passes the ground frame for the loop turnout before setting back onto the Cranmore-end of the train.
