RSH 0-6-0ST no. 47 "Moorbarrow" erupts in an impressive manner as it leaves Cranmore station at 15.30 with a train to Mendip Vale. The former bitumen sidings are through the gate on the left. Behind no. 47 is the experimental fibre glass-bodied Mark I coach no. S1000S.
No. 47 was built by Robert Stevenson & Hawthorn in 1955 for use in the Northumberland coalfield. It entered preservation in 1973 and has resided at a number of heritage railways. It stayed on the ESR until 2015, after which it was transferred to the Gwilli Railway in South Wales.
