I happened to be talking to one contractor over the weekend who worked with the road-railers. He had driven down from Cardiff to do his shift, but spent all of his time in his van waiting to be called up to work, only to have his shift end, and be relieved by a colleague. He then was due to drive back to Cardiff having not been needed at all!
