A mile on from Coaxden bridge is the level crossing known as Axe Gates, near Waggs Plot. The 14.55 Plymouth to London Waterloo speeds along behind large-logo 47488 "Rail Riders", passing the farm adjacent to the level crossing. The "Rail Riders" name was previously carried by Class 47 "generator" no. 47406, which had been withdrawn.
