"North Eastern on the Mule"! Network Rail's New Measurement Train has two new power cars in the form of former London North Eastern Railway (LNER) nos. 43299 and 43290. The original power cars are going through an overhaul so I am not sure if their use is temporary or not. At 11.35 no. 43299 leads the 1Q23 05.56 Reading to Salisbury via Exeter St. Davids train into the down loop, to wait for the 1L21 London to Exeter train to pass. No. 43290 is out of site at the rear. I'll dash off now to catch it again passing Forde Abbey. Meanwhile, check out my You Tube video of the train arriving.....
