The sound of its English Electric power plant echoing around the up reaches of the Axe Valley, large-logo Class 50 no. 50030 "Repulse" rips through Chard Junction with the 12.24 Exeter St. Davids to London Waterloo. Don't worry, I was standing lineside with the full permission of the signalman at Chard Junction.

To the right is the Three Counties Inn, sadly long closed, and at the time of writing at the beginning of 2021, up for sale(offers over £300k!).
