Dating from 1939, this Esso tank wagon was donated to the E.S.R in 1975 in recognition of David Shepherds efforts to raise money through his paintings to save the tiger in the wild. However, the story goes that he then took exception to Esso's advertising slogan "put a tiger in your tank" and had the wagon repainted black with Shell branding instead! It was restored to this livery by the E.S.R in 2019.
