21st March 2004

At 15.15 two EWS Class 66s rest in the sun on Godfrey Road stabling point. Nos. 66234 and 66028 would both find themselves transferred overseas many years later, for operations in France with EWS subsidiary Euro Cargo Rail. However, at the time of writing (2023) no. 66028 has since returned, in 2022. No. 66234 remains out there. I liked the neatness of this view, the two locomotives in perfect alignment, and the EWS maroon did actually look OK in good sunlight, and when it was kept clean!
