Poor old 37154! My recollection of this shot is as clear in my mind today as it was then. The engine was obviously not in the best of health, the engine sound "hunting" up and down and sounding very odd indeed. That said, it couldn't have been that bad as it worked back later heading east. The former Transrail loco is working the 11.27 Bristol Temple Meads to Cardiff Central for Wessex Trains (remember them!) and will have been amongst the last passenger trains to be worked by non-ETH 37s on the mainline. The train calls at Newport at 12.01.
