So, this is Trainsrail's Class 56 no. 56121, my "pet" locomotive. The thing is, I don't really know why. I do recall that after it was withdrawn it lingered on for quite a while, stranded in Carlisle for a long time before it eventually met its end, but I think at the time I had some hope that it would survive. I have always admired the Class 56, and to me there is very little more impressive than a "Grid" at "full chat" when under power with a heavy train. In this view it has stopped at platform 1 for a crew change at 13.42, on the 6V75 09.14 Dee Marsh to Margam empty steel train. True to form, as it powers away the deep throb of the loco's Ruston diesel is raising the hairs on the back of my neck!
