10th Oct 1996

A typical scene from the platform during this period: locomotives stabled at the Godfrey Road stabling point, at the time operated by Transrail. On shed today is (left to right) 37889, 37701, 47314 "Transmark" and 37412 "Driver John Elliott". Who? Well, this is a sad story. Driver John Elliott was a popular St. Blazey-based driver who was tragically killed in 1993 in an accident at the depot whilst he was moving a locomotive into the shed. His memory was honoured with the naming of this locomotive.
