Walking along a footpath after visiting the Passage House Inn, off Hackney Lane, I was hoping to get some glimpses of the railway as it headed towards Teignmouth along the Teign estuary. Not having visited this area before I was uncertain as to what opportunities there might be. I was therefore delighted to get catch this scene, at sometime between 15.45 and 16.45, albeit a little distant, of a westbound HST in the early Great Western "fag packet" livery. It's alongside a piece of water known as Hackney Channel, which leads into the River Teign just as it enters the sea at Teighnmouth. Oil seed rape is in full bloom in the distant field adding to the colour.
