Just west of Aller Junction at Langford Bridge the 1V43 06.57 Newcastle to Plymouth cross country service is starting the climb up to Dainton. Operated by HST power cars 43189 (leading) and 43125 "Merchant Venturer" (trailing). The quarry at Aller dominates the background. This view has changed out of all recognition since the building of the Kingskerswell bypass.
