12th April 1987

Aller Junction was a lovely setting, with easy access from the Kingskerswell road. You would park up on a side road opposite the main road and walk over the farm occupation bridge and into a field, where views such as this could be found. Here is large logo 47658 heading the 1M78 13.49 Plymouth to Manchester Piccadily service, rounding the curve past Aller Junction signal box. Semaphores were on borrowed time, due to be phased out in a matter of months, hence my raised interest in this area at the time. Everything to the right of the track in this view has now been obliterated by the Kingskerswell bypass!
