The first swallow of spring? Well, it may just be a little too early for spring but First Great Western HST power car no. 43185 "Great Western", in retro BR Intercity "Swallow" livery, will be a first for me this year. Will it be my last?
Working the 1A87 13.19 Plymouth to London Paddington diverted service through the Junction at 15.27, this might be the last time I photograph a diverted HST on the old Southern route, their replacement by GWR IET Class 800/802 no-mode units making rapid progress at this time. Power car no. 43086 is on the rear.
