At the height of the hay making season near Broom Gates, NSE Class 50 no. 50030 "Repulse" charges past my position in the middle of a freshly-mown field. In fact, I recall that the farmer was still cutting the grass, but happy for me to continue with my photography. It was a lovely, warm summer's afternoon but this was the autumn of the Class 50, with their days numbered. This is the 15.48 Exeter St. David's to London Waterloo.
