16th June 1992 - Northallerton & the Redmire Branch, North Yorkshire
(18) Final shot of this long sequence, train engine 60059 "Samuel Plimmsoll" is seen at the head of the Redmire to Redcar loaded limestone train. It will shortly departed northwards, for Tees Yard, and another load for a hungry steelworks!

This locomotive will remain a favourite of mine, being my carriage between Redmire and Bedale. Despite the general rundown of these fine engines, 60059 has remained in service, today (2018) operating for DB Cargo, and carrying their bright red livery and the name "Swinden Dalesman", a name bestowed on it whilst in service with interim freight company Loadhaul.

I had been enchanted by my experiences that day on the Redmire branch, and would return again.....!
