Long Lane level crossing, Brompton, is about 5 miles north-east of Northallerton on the Eaglescliffe line. Looking into the setting sun on this winter's day Class 60 no. 60023 "The Cheviot" is heading to Lackenby steel works with an empty steel train. Sadly Lackenby steel works is gone and 60023 languishes withdrawn at Toton, Nottingham (2021).
