(9) For me, this is where the day got more interesting! During the course of much conversation with the train crew, out of the blue the proposal of a cab ride down the branch to Bedale was offered. This was something I found too good to refuse, and I will remain eternally grateful to my wife (at the time) for offering to drive the car back to Bedale to meet me off the train. So, this is the sight of 60059 "Samuel Plimsoll" gently pulling up to the platform of the closed station at Redmire to collect a passenger for the ride eastward! Behind the locomotive is a 1,800 ton load for Redcar.
