I'm back again this year to visit my friend, retired signalman Ray Allen, and to capture some of the last freight trains on the branch before closure. Standing on the signal box steps at Bedale Class 60 no. 60086 "Schiehallion" approaches with a loaded limestone train to Redcar steel works. I never recorded the train details unfortunately, but this was a daily train that kept the furnaces fed.
