(17) The loaded limestone train arrives at Northallerton - backwards! Having run off the branch into a long headshunt at Castle Hills Junction, parrallel to the mainline, the train had to reverse back to the station, in order to gain the line that dived under the East Coast Main Line and went on towards Yarm, and eventually Tees Yard. Another good reason to bring a brake van along, aiding the reversing move.
