Now here's a train that I don't mind admitting caught me out by total surprise! Expecting to just have a ful day on the South Wales mainline filling my boots with as much freight as I could, look what turns up at 15.40! Deltic no.19!
55019 "Royal Highland Fusilier" arrives at platform 1 with the VSOE, after which it ran around the stock, and deported west half an hour later. Further research confirms that this was a Liverpool to Hereford excursion, via Newport, and return, using the VSOE Pullman stock. You don't see a Deltic in South Wales everyday!
