It's 12.25, and 56060 has had a run up to Pontrilas with a loaded timber train, and is now going "on shed" at Godfrey Road stabling point for a rest. The Art Deco Newport Civic Centre is a distinctive building that features in a lot of my photos taken here. It's a Grade II listed building housing the City Council offices, Crown Court and Mayor's Office. Building initially started in 1937, but thanks to the war work stopped, and didn't really get going again until the 1960s, with the works finally being completed in 1964!
