Barnstaple|: "Skipper" 142021 is arriving on the 14.55 Exeter Central to Barnstaple service, passing a fine out-of-place (this was Southern territory!) GWR lower-quadrant signal gantry, and the former Southern railway signal box on the left. Track work to the left leads into the former goods yard and shed. The signal box and signalling was swept away later in the year, replaced by a no-signalman key token system.
