Newton St. Cyres: "Nodding Donkey", otherwise known as a "Skipper", Class 142 DMU no. 142027 runs non stop through the station on the 14.25 Barnstaple to Exeter Central. Recent track lifting has taken place, as evidence by the track panels sitting on the p-way, and the former down platform, where the shot was taken from, will see a train no more! The "Skippers" were not successful, and didn't stay in the West Country for long, and the disused down platform has since been removed.

Although I've not been there myself, I understand that the "Beer Engine" public house is well worth the visit!
