Eggesford: After Crediton, the only passing point on the line to Barnstaple is at this station, and on my first visit it was still mechanically signalled. Illustrating perfectly its bucolic location amongst the trees, alongside the A377 road, here is "Skipper" Class 142 DMU no. 142027 approaching on the 14.26 Barnstaple to Exeter St. Davids service.
