(1) The Cogload Climber!: A rare visitor to "The Mule" in the form of a 7-car Hastings Class 201 DEMU, set no. 1001 (TOPS no. 201001). It is seen slowly pulling into the loop at Chard at 15.43 to allow two SWR services to pass, up and down. This is a Hastings Diesel rail tour running as 1Z15 14.40 Exeter Central to Hastings, via Salisbury and Eastleigh. The train had travelled down to the west via Taunton as the 1Z14 06.30 Hastings to Exeter Central. There are three power cars in this train: no. 60118 "Tunbridge Wells" is leading, with nos. 60119 and 60116 "Mountfield" at the rear, all three under power. The train will wait here for 37 minutes.
