25th Jan 2019

I'm back at Axe Gates, near Waggs Plot, to witness the passing of route learning run 0Z27 07.29 Westbury Down T. C. to Exeter Riverside N. Y. at 09.14. DB Cargo's 66197 is on the run today and it will return later in the morning.
This working had been running all week, but annoyingly this was the first, and only, opportunity I had to see it this week, on the dullest day, with the dullest livery! Typical! Previously during the past week or so Class 59 no. 59004, plus Class 66s 66101, 66134 and 66107 had been used, all far more brighter and colourful than this drab "Shed"! The other 66s were in the DB Cargo red livery. I was particularly interested to see that not one, but two, ex-Scottish RETB-fitted 66s were in use, nos. 66101 and 66107. I would have liked to have seen them on this route.
All of this route learning was being staged in preparation for a three-week period of diverts due to the closure of Whiteball Tunnel in February. Something to look forward to!
