37308 was, at the time, a bit of a celebrity, having kept its BR blue livery long into the privatised era. In fact, I have a feeling that it had been repainted into these colours rather than EWS. It was also the highest-numbered Class 37, there being 309 built, but with one being scrapped in the '60s. It's seen here stabled alongside the station and I recall that it was being used on a local MOD trip working later that day.
