Didcot, Oxfordshire
Didcot was, and some would say still, a great train watching location. A busy main line, plenty of freight, a coal power station and a busy line coming in from the north that actually skips by and avoids the station, but still gives opportunities for action. Any visit to Didcot will always generate some interest, but since electrification the character of the location will have been diminished, and the views more restrictive. And with the closure and demolition of Didcot A Power Station between 2013 and 2015 the backdrop to the railway station has been altered forever.
