The aircraft blue and silver colours of Mainline looked especially smart on locomotives, although only a few received it. 37379 “Ipswich WRD Quality Assured” stands out as it passes the yard at 17.36 with 4B24 15.35 Didcot Yard to Pengam, a Ministry of Defence service. Anything could turn up on one of these trains, but not much today! A smart 09017 sits in the yard behind.

Looking back I really appreciate the quality and quantity of freight trains passing by this summer late afternoon period. And it’s not over yet!
