Long before thoughts of preservation were in anyone's mind, 50049 "Defiance" is just a workaday Class 50 doing what it, and all of the others in the class, were meant to be doing. Here she's atop the 07.50 Plymouth to Liverpool Lime Street service, in a classic view of the station and overall station roof, Brunel's masterpiece.
