I have a lucky two-train encounter at 11.09. Heading north, and creeping into the scene, is EWS Class 66 no. 66124 working 4A84 10.45 Draw Power Station to Milford Sidings empty coal, and GBRf Class 66 no. 66706 "Nene Valley" approaches on the 6E05 00.40 Hunterston to Ferrbridge Power Station loaded coal.

Coal from the import docks at Hunterston has ceased, and Ferrbridge Power Station has closed. Things move fast these days in the power generation business!
