6th August 1997

The Mainline Blue livery really did look nice on a clean loco, and 37803 is no exception here, seen at 11.34, as it passes the track crew with a rake of 8 empty TTA acetic acid tanks.
This is the 6E39 09.39 Mostyn to Hull Saltend service, which will curve off to the right to Gascoigne Wood Junction and onward towards Selby and the ECML. These trains were also referred to as the "Vinegar Tanks".
As well as this train I was also familiar with a similar service to and from Baglan Bay in South Wales, but all of these trains have since ceased and no trains go to Hull Saltend now.
