14th April 1987

An HST forming the 06.57 Newcastle to Plymouth service is approaching Aller Junction from the Newton Abbot direction. Power car no. 43149 is about to pass under this wonderful example of Great Western signalling, soon to be swept away by the forthcoming MAS system later in the year. The new colour light signals can be seen, waiting to be switched on. I'm standing on the occupation bridge leading into the field from the main road, which was swept away with the building of the Kingskerswell bypass.
