Cambrian Coast routes to Aberystwyth & Pwllheli

Once you leave the North & West Route at Sutton Bridge Junction you seem to enter a whole new world, where time has stopped and old traditions hold on. Remote villages, lost valleys and desolate hills are encountered through every twist and turn in the line as it heads towards the setting sun and the coastal resorts at Aberystwyth and Pwllheli. Despite its apparent detachment from civilisation the railway here is in fact cutting edge, trains being regulated using the latest European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), but nevertheless there is still that feeling of you being far from the madding crowd and of life passing at a different pace. A favourite area of mine.
