(2) At 19.00 EWS Class 66 no. 66101 glows in the lovely evening sunshine at Fersit, heading the 6E16 17.50 Fort William to Tyne Yard empty Alcan alumina tanks. The train also included four TTA oil tank wagons on the end, from the sidings at Fort William. There was once a small station at this spot, and the Lochaber Light Railway, a narrow gauge line built in conjunction with the developing aluminium industry in the area, used to pass close to here.
