This was my second visit to the extension railway, a year after the first, almost to the day. This time 37043 "Loch Lomond" brought me up from Fort William, and it is seen here at Mallaig, on shunting manoeuvres as it prepares the return 12.20 Mallaig to Fort William service. It had arrived on the 10.05 from Fort William and is preparing to remove a special load brought up in the morning.... an interesting addition to the normal train was this inspection saloon, no doubt carrying BR managers on a fact finding(?!) tour of the line. Not a bad job to have!
