Tulloch station at 18.25 and EWS Class 66 no. 66111 arrives on the 6E16 17.50 Fort William to Tyne Yard empty Alcan alumina tanks. The load today is just 9 Alcan PCA tank wagons. The train passes a stock of rail in the old goods yard.
Class 66s nos. 66099-66114 were in a pool designated to serve the RETB requirement of the Highland lines for many years, but now that EWS successor DB Cargo has lost ground to GBRf these locos are dispersed far and wide around the country on other traffic, although some retain RETB equipment for when needed for trains on the Far North Line. But 66111 remains a favourite for me, probably due to its distinctive number oddly enough!
