Yeovil Junction, Dorset

Junction station is on the ex-LSWR main line, where the branch to Yeovil Pen Mill veers off, and the old Westbury & Weymouth line passes beneath just a few hundred yards eastwards. Even today Yeovil Junction station has something about it that takes you back to an earlier period. Despite much rationalisation the original station buildings, complete with refreshment room, survive, as does one of the two through lines, albeit used for engineers trains when needed. On the down side (the side formerly for routes west, that is!)the Yeovil Railway Centre occupies the buildings, platform and yard, including the former GWR exchange shed. I've taken a few pictures here over the years, but not as many as perhaps I should have done. I need to delve into the archive and see what I can find!
