Once the fortunate travellers on the private charter from London had been deposited at Oban their train promptly returned to Crewe empty! This was the first time I had visited this well-known viaduct at Loch Awe and despite the cloud I was not disappointed. At 11.21 Locomotive Services Limited Class 37s nos. D6817 (37521) and D6851 (37667) make a fine sight, and sound, as they cross over with the 5Z69 10.30 Oban to Crewe Holding Sidings empty stock train.
