A train for the privileged few! This private charter train started the previous day, as the 1Z68 17.46 London Euston to Oban, and arrived at Taynuilt in the early hours. It then rested there until the first Glasgow-Oban, and return, train ran and then it departed for the final stretch to Oban. Meanwhile one of the Class 37s had run around to top and tail the train to the terminus. Not sure why that was necessary. Viewed from the top of some steps at 09.26, at the rear of our holiday cottage at Achnacloich, Locomotive Services Limited Class 37 no. D6817 (37521) heads the train through the reverse curve, as no. D6851 (37667) is seem tagged on to the rear. The driver gave me a friendly toot on the horn.
