Based at Plymouth Laira for over two years, from May 1978 to November 1980, Class 25/1 no. 25058 was known to me, as it was a familiar sight around Exeter, pottering about on locals to Barnstaple and Paignton. But once finished with in the West Country it went north, and eventually worked its last train in February 1987. It languished here at Vic Berry's, in the stack, until the end of 1988, and by January 1989 it was gone.
