31st May 1987

(2) A nice side-on portrait in the sun for 25037. I've always liked the small Sulzers - gutsy little engines that proved their worth to BR time and time again. This one had only arrived in the scrapyard two days previously and would be gone in just two weeks. The position of the running number on the bodyside hints to its time as a Scottish-based loco from 1976 to 1982. Look carefully and its TOPS number can just be detected under the paint on the cab side, indicating that before being transferred to Scotland its running number was in the more traditional place.
